In a region where the Chasselas grape predominates, we wanted to create something with this variety that would shake up the habits of connaisseurs and intrigue the uninitiated.
A white/red blend is what spoke to us the most. Not quite a rosé, somewhere between white and red, "BLOUGE" a play of the words blanc=white and rouge=red!
The so-called “Blouge” wines have already existed for several years in France, mainly in the Bordeaux region.
We were very clearly inspired by it. The concept of the chimera quickly crossed our minds. This hybrid creature and curiosity of nature fit perfectly with our idea. The second definition, that of the unrealistic dream, speaks to us just as well.
In Switzerland, these new creations encounter significant legal obstacles regarding their designation. Such products cannot claim the title of "wine".
Therefore, any mention relating to this (for example vintage, grape varieties, local wine, AOC, place of production and other information appearing in the regulations on Vaud wines) cannot appear on the labeling.
The concept of “wine-based drink” is therefore the last remaining possibility.
